Taylor Green Vortex 🌀
The Taylor–Green vortex is an exact closed form solution of 2-dimensional, incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. This 2-dimensional decaying vortex defined in the square domain, 0 ≤ x, y ≤ π, serves as a benchmark problem for testing and validation of incompressible Navier–Stokes codes.
Below you can see a numerical simulation of Navier-Stokes equations for a Taylor Green Vortex at Reynolds 1600. Computed with ONERA elsA solver or Fast solver (https://w3.onera.fr/FAST), in-situ and in-memory post-processing and visualisation with Cassiopee.
The General Theory of General Intelligence
A multi-decade exploration into the theoretical foundations of artificial and natural general intelligence, which has been expressed in a series of books and papers and used to guide a series of practical and research-prototype software systems, is reviewed at a moderate level of detail. The review covers underlying philosophies (patternist philosophy of mind, foundational phenomenological and logical ontology), formalizations of the concept of intelligence, and a proposed high level architecture for AGI systems partly driven by these formalizations and philosophies.

CFD Python: 12 steps to Navier-Stokes
CFD Python, a.k.a. the 12 steps to Navier-Stokes, is a practical module for learning the foundations of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) by coding solutions to the basic partial differential equations that describe the physics of fluid flow. The module was part of a course taught by Prof. Lorena Barba between 2009 and 2013 in the Mechanical Engineering department at Boston University.
Coded Bias - Netflix Documentary
This documentary investigates the bias in algorithms after M.I.T. Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini uncovered flaws in facial recognition technology.
Upcoming Podcast
Friday Episode
Coming Friday at 6pm CET, I will release a new podcast with Michael Kennedy who is the founder and host of two successful Python podcasts: Talk Python To Me and Python Bytes.
He runs Talk Python Training which provides best-of-class online courses for Python developers. He is deeply involved in the Python community, is a MongoDB Master, and knows a thing or two about .NET as well.
You can find him online via twitter where he's @mkennedy, on GitHub as mikeckennedy, his personal blog at http://blog.michaelckennedy.net/ and of course via his podcasts at https://talkpython.fm and https://pythonbytes.fm.

Book of the Week
Succeeding with AI - How to make AI work for your business
Companies small and large are initiating AI projects, investing vast sums of money on software, developers, and data scientists. Too often, these AI projects focus on technology at the expense of actionable or tangible business results, resulting in scattershot results and wasted investment. Succeeding with AI sets out a blueprint for AI projects to ensure they are predictable, successful, and profitable. It’s filled with practical techniques for running data science programs that ensure they are cost effective and focused on the right business goals.
