Engineering
Tautochrone
The Tautochrone is the cycloid curve where objects sliding without friction and placed anywhere on it, will reach the curve lowest point at the same time under the effect of gravity, no matter what are their starting points.
Wave Equation
The wave equation is a partial differential equation that describes the propagation of various types of waves.
The equation appears throughout many fields in physics, including acoustics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics.
The one-dimensional equation was first discovered by d’Alembert in 1746 as he studied how vibrations propagated through a string, and the two- and three-dimensional equations were solved soon after by Euler during his study of acoustics.

Podcast
This week, I uploaded a podcast with Pierre Baqué from Neural Concept!
Pierre is Chief Executive Officer at Neural Concept, which he co-founded in 2018. Pierre received an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and a Masters degree in Operations Research from Ecole Polytechnique in France. His research focused on Deep Structured Learning and Variational Inference applied to Computer Vision.
Visualize Ideas
My personal favourite visualization for this week is the quote:
Former slavery chained your ankle.
Modern slavery chains your mind.
If you would like to see more of these visualized ideas, make sure to follow me on Instagram to see more of my designs!
Investment of the Week
Instead of buying something like a sleep mask as shown in last week’s newsletter, I got myself two trading apps this week in order to accumulate more stocks (Apple & some others)! In terms of cryptos, I will most likely spend some money on Ethereum & Litecoin soon - I might even put a small amount of my money into Bitcoin as it is currently skyrocketing - better late than never, right? If you’d like to see videos on investing and what things like “index funds” mean, feel free to reach out to and I might do an “Investing 101”.
The number one reason by far why people are not investing apart from not knowing where and how to start is that they mistrust apps or the service providers. I researched two apps for quite some time and I am currently using “Trading 212” as well as “Trade Republic”. The earlier you start the better, I wish I did invest as soon as I turned 18.
Let me help you getting started!
Trading 212
Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/HEzHXT9h and we both get a free share!
Trade Republic
Sign up now with my personal invitation link and receive 15 €: https://ref.trade.re/wfwcss3f
If you are still sceptical, please do your own research - it is always good to do that and I highly encourage you to check out the ones I shared here. And if you use the link above we both win :) Also if you think I am not really using these apps, feel free to ping me on Twitter or Instagram and I will send you a screenshot of my investments, promise!
Artificial Intelligence
MuZero: Mastering Go, chess, shogi and Atari without rules
MuZero sets a new state of the art for RL algorithms, outperforming all prior algorithms on the Atari suite and matching the superhuman performance of AlphaZero on Go, chess and shogi.
